German-American violinist Augustin Hadelich, who grew up in the foothills of rural Tuscany, is most definitely the man of the moment and is quite rightly earning a reputation as one of the finest violinists on the circuit. He travelled to the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam to join the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and American conductor Karina Canellakis for the first time since his debut in 2017.

Opening the concert with Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D Minor, Hadelich has the ability to draw us all into his world. The precision and economy in his playing is a joy! What a bow arm and how relaxed is his left hand?
